I didn’t see this show, but I can almost bet this line was said by Zach Woods.

“Objection!” the lawyer interjected. “That piece is extremely jaunty.”

Am I right? I think I’m right! This sounds very much like him.

                              

It was me! I take this as a very high compliment that you thought it was Zach.

Although, in fact, I think it was a slight paraphrase. I believe I said “Objection! Objection! The witness is being entirely too ‘jaunty.’”

Which now, with the benefit of hindsight, strikes me as clunky and less graceful than the NYTimes version, which is the only version History will remember, and which does sound much more like something that Zach would say. He says most things better than most people.
